Turkey raises custom duty of 130 imported products

Turkey said on Friday it has increased the custom duty on imports of 130 products by 25 percent.

The increase will come into force as of Friday and the custom duty will not exceed 50 percent all in all, according to a cabinet decree published in the official Gazette.

The decree covers small kitchen appliances, hand tools and hardware.

Imports from the European Union and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries, Israel, Macedonia, Morocco, West Bank/Gaza Strip, Tunisia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Korea, Chile, Egypt, Georgia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Mauritius will be exempted from the new hike.

According to the recent official data, Russia, China and Germany were the top exporters to Turkey last year. Endit
