Slovakia to train Ukrainian military specialists

Xinhua, February 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Slovak army is set to continue training Ukrainian specialists to clear mines and dispose of explosives, hosting five courses for more than 70 members of the Ukrainian security forces at a Slovak military training facility this year, announced Slovak Defense Minister Martin Glvac on Thursday.

"By organizing further courses, we continue to meet the commitments that we made at the NATO summit in Wales, that were also declared during our visit to Ukraine last year," said Glvac.

The first course, focusing on improvised explosive devices, begins later this month at the sapper facility at Sered in Western Slovakia. Fifteen Ukrainians are expected to take part. Endit
