Finland not to provide military support to Ukraine: media

Finland does not intend to provide weapons to support Ukraine, local media quoted Finnish president Sauli Niinisto as saying on Thursday.

Finland has no plan to provide military support to Ukraine, and such an assistance would lead to a vicious circle, Finnish News Agency STT-Lehtikuva quoted Niinisto as saying.

Yet Niinisto did not rule out a new round of sanction against Russia, according to the STT.

Finland has already offered some financial support to Ukraine, the president added.

Earlier reports said Finnish prime minister Alexander Stubb also expressed his rejection to the proposal of providing military assistance to Ukraine. Endit
