Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrived here Thursday on a three-day state visit to Malaysia to enhance bilateral relations between the two ASEAN member countries.

A statement issued by the Malaysian government said the Indonesian president's state visit would provide an opportunity for both leaders to review the progress of the existing bilateral ties.

According to official sources, the Indonesian president is scheduled to meet with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and discuss a wide range of issues with him, including labor recruitment, maritime territorial and economic matters.

Indonesia is Malaysia's sixth largest trading partner globally and third largest trading partner among ASEAN member countries.

Total trade between the two countries was recorded at RM61.1 billion (about 19.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2013 and RM 54.7 billion (about 16.9 billion U.S. dollars) for the period of January to November 2014. Endi
