French stock market index up 0.39 on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.39 percent to close at 4,696.30 points on Wednesday, up 18.40 points.

Although investors were still anxious about the economic situation in Greece, the good performance of LVMH group in the fourth quarter of 2014 stabled the market. At the end of the business day, the CAC 40 closed higher with 25 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

Wednesday's top three gainers were LVMH, which shot up 8.13 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, up 2.46 percent, and Pernod Ricard, up 2.37 percent.

The three companies which lost most on Wednesday were Technip, down 2.87 percent, ArcelorMittal, down 2.19 percent, and Credit Agricole, down 1.50 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.09 percent to close at 4,677.90 points, up 50.23 points. Endit
