French stock market index closes slightly higher

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained a slight advance of 0.51 percent to close at 4,627.67 points on Monday, up 23.42 points.

Thanks to the rise of oil price, the CAC 40 closed with an advance. At the end of the business day, 18 of the 40 selected companies were down, while Solvay stayed the same as previous trading day.

Monday's top three gainers were Total, up 3.30 percent, Technip, up 2.80 percent, and Carrefour, up 2.15 percent.

The three companies which lost most on Monday were Gemalto, down 1.99 percent, Essilor Intl., down 1.52 percent, and Alcatel-Lucent, down 1.29 percent.

In the previous trading day, Jan. 30, the CAC 40 experienced a slight decrease of 0.59 percent to close at 4,604.25 points, down 27.18 points. Enditem
