Nguyen Thi Thanh An will be Vietnam's sole representative to compete in the upcoming 2015 World Women's Chess Championship to be held in Sochi of Russia from March 16 to April 7, said the Vietnam Chess Federation (VCF) on its website Monday.

Grandmaster An, born in 1976, qualified for the tournament by competing in zonal play-offs in 2014. She had taken part in the world championships in 2000, 2004 and 2008, as well.

Sixty-four players from across the world will participate in the event this year, who were all selected through national chess championships, zonal and continental chess tournaments, according to the World Chess Federation. Endi
