French stock market index down 0.59 pct on Friday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 experienced a slight decrease of 0.59 percent to close at 4,604.25 points on Friday, down 27.18 points.

Uncertainties in Greece, negative inflation in the eurozone and the sharper-than-expected slowdown of American economic growth were factors which affected the CAC 40, which closed with a decrease on Friday. At the end of the business day, 28 of the 40 selected companies were down.

Friday's top three gainers were ArcelorMittal, up 1.60 percent, Legrand, up 1.59 percent, and Total, up 1.31 percent.

The three companies which lost most on Friday were Orange, down 2.95 percent, Renault, down 2.25 percent, and Airbus Group, down 2.23 percent.

In the previous trading day, Jan. 29, the CAC 40 gained a slight advance of 0.44 percent to close at 4,631.43 points, up 20.49 points. Enditem
