National workshop on reproductive health closes in Brunei

A two-day workshop on a plan of action to address issues related to Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), including HIV or AIDS, and teenage pregnancy in the country has been closed, the state broadcaster Ridio Television Brunei (RTB) reported on Friday.

Sixty participants who are school leaders from across the country received certificates from the Acting Director General at the Ministry of Education, Awang Haji Abdul Rahim bin Haji Derus.

During the two-day course, they discussed measures already implemented or are being implemented by several government and non- government agencies in preventing and eliminating social issues. The issues included high-risk behavior, prevention of STI and pregnancy among young girls.

There were also talks and briefings on the status of and basic on STI including HIV/AIDS and teenage pregnancy in the country. Endi
