Manchester Airport reopens after heavy snow

Xinhua, January 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Flights resumed from Manchester, Britain's third biggest airport, on Thursday afternoon following a four-hour shut down to enable runways to be cleared of snow.

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: "Following the poor weather experienced this morning, flights have now resumed but are subject to delays."

"The safety and security of our passengers is paramount and we continue to make significant efforts to clear snow from other parts of the airfield," he added.

He stated further periods of poor weather were forecast for the rest of the day, asking passengers to contact their airline before traveling to Manchester Airport. Endit
