Thousand of protests from Kenya's Massai community on Thursday staged fierce demonstrations in Narok, about 120 km northwest of Nairobi, to protest the arrest of their local leaders.
The angry residents blocked all roads in Narok, which also lead to the main town and near the world famous Massai Mara Game Reserve, after five lawmakers from Narok were arrested late Wednesday for "incitement" that left one person injured and paralyzed business in and around the town.

KABUL -- More than 40 people have been killed and more than 50 others wounded in attacks and clashes in Afghanistan since late Wednesday, authorities said on Thursday.

GAZA -- Around 17,000 teenagers from Gaza finished on Thursday one-week training course in paramilitary activities, which was organized and supervised by Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing.

OTTAWA -- Canada's electronic spy agency intercepts and analyzes millions of videos and documents downloaded online every day by people around the world to identify extremists, Canada's CBC News reported Wednesday.
The Communications Security Establishment (CSE) project, named "LEVITATION", was carried out in partnership with countries including the United States, Britain, New Zealand and Australia, according to a document recently released to CBC News by U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden. (Canada-Snowden)

MOSCOW -- The West uses the Ukrainian conflict as a tool of its geopolitical goals, a Kremlin official said Thursday.
"It is getting more obvious that our Western partners, first of all those across the ocean, see Ukraine as a tool to achieve their geopolitical goals," Sergei Ivanov, head of the Kremlin administration, told a meeting with governors.
