China and Thailand agreed to step up cooperation on law and justice as senior Chinese security official Meng Jianzhu met Thursday with visiting Thai Justice Minister Paiboon Khumchaya.

Meng, head of the commission for political and legal affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Thailand are friendly neighbors, and the two countries should carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation on law and justice so as to add fresh content to the all-round strategic and cooperative partnership.

The two countries should work on providing even more effective legal services to one another, Meng said.

Paiboon Khumchaya said Thailand will as always strengthen cooperation with China in areas including justice.

Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun attended the meeting in Zhongnanhai, the headquarters of the Chinese government. Endi
