Wolfsburg expects high of Chinese midfielder Zhang Xizhe

Chinese international midfielder Zhang Xizhe was warmly welcomed at the German first division soccer league, according to the Bundesliga official website.

The 26-year-old, who has topped the assists rankings in Chinese Super League twice, signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Wolfsburg last month.

He set up for Bas Dost to score in a 4-1 friendly victory over Ajax Cape Town in his debut for the Wolves during their winter training period in South Africa.

"His transfer has attracted a lot of media attention. He's one of the best players in China and he'll be a real help to us," said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs.

Wolfsburg will face Bayern Munich, the only team currently above them in the standings, on Friday.

"I'll be going all out against Bayern," Zhang said. Endi
