Seven Killed in Nigeria's Kaduna gunmen attack

At least seven people have been confirmed dead after gunmen suspected to be a Fulani herdsmen opened fire on a crowd in central north Nigeria's state of Kaduna, an official said Wednesday.

Jonathan Asake, acting chairman of Zango-Kataf local government area, who confirmed the incident, told Xinhua that he got a distressed call on Tuesday night that armed Fulani man attacked a small crowd of people in the Yangal village.

Asake said he assisted in evacuating five corpses and 12 injured persons to the hospital, when he got to the scene of the incident.

Two persons later died in the hospital, the official added, noting that no arrest was made.

He told Xinhua that the gunmen had fled when soldiers arrived the scene of the attack.

Kaduna State, located in Nigeria's north-central region, is one of the states with recent high number of attacks in the west African country, with women and children being the most affected. Endi
