At least six people were killed and four others injured on Wednesday evening when a U.S. drone launched a strike in Pakistan's northwestern tribal region of North Waziristan, local media reported.

The U.S. pilotless plane fired two missiles at a house in the Shawal area of the restive tribal region bordering Afghanistan, according to the reports.

The strike destroyed the compound completely and killed six persons and left four others injured.

The identities of the killed and wounded persons were not known yet. However, the reports said some suspected people were residing in the compound for a couple of months.

This is the fourth U.S. drone strike in the country's tribal areas since the beginning of this year. To date at least 28 people have been killed in such strikes in the area. Endi
