Singapore stocks close 0.20 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 6.95 points, or 0.20 percent, to close at 3,419.15.

A total of 1.38 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 23 billion Singapore dollars (924.8 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 233 to 177, while 529 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained up 13.68 points, or 0.40 percent, to close at 3,412.20 on Tuesday. Endi
