1st LD Writethru: Motorbike bomb wounds 6 in S. Afghanistan

Six persons had been injured as a motorbike bomb exploded in the southern Kandahar city, the capital of Kandahar province, 450 km south of Kabul on Tuesday, police said.

"Terrorists placed explosive device on the cavities of a motorbike and exploded in the first police district in Kandahar city this evening, wounding six people including two policemen and four civilians," police spokesman in Kandahar city Zia Durani told Xinhua.

The incident took place at 05:50 p.m. local time, when some policemen were on routine patrol, he added.

Meanwhile, hospital sources said that eight injured people including four police and four civilians had been taken to hospital for medical treatment. Endi
