Xinhua, January 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

An Emirati passenger plane has been hit by small arms fire when landing at Baghdad airport, an airport source told Xinhua on Tuesday.

On Monday night one of the Unite Arab Emirate's Flydubai planes was hit by bullets from the al-Radhwaniya area, just south of the airport, which caused damage to the aircraft, the source said on condition of anonymity.

The source could not give further details, saying that an official statement will be released soon by the Iraqi Authority of Aviation.

Media reports said that Emirates Airlines suspended flights to Baghdad on Tuesday after the shooting incident that involved Dubai's Flydubai carrier at the airport of the Iraqi capital. Endit
