Rockets to wear Chinese New Year uniform

Xinhua, January 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Houston Rockets showed their specially designed uniforms in its official website Monday. They will wear the new jersey as a way of marketing the game to Chinese fans during the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations.

The Golden State Warriors who have many Chinese spectators will do the same thing to express their honor to the Chinese traditional culture.

The NBA official website said the Rockets will wear the Chinese-theme uniforms when they host the Toronto Raptors on February 21, a day after the Warriors meet the San Antonio Spurs.

Chinese former basketball star Yao Ming who had retired in Houston took a part in the poster shooting.

"I am moved because the Rockets are following our traditional custom. It is my honor to be a Rocket player since 2002," Yao said.

"I believed that China Basketball fans will be excited in the spring festival when they saw the uniform in NBA," he added. Endi
