A high-profile Iranian delegation arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Saturday to offer condolences over the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The oil-rich kingdom has set Saturday and Sunday to receive condolences over the monarch's demise.

The relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran reached its lowest level over the Syrian crisis as the kingdom accuses Tehran of backing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The disturbed relations between the two countries witnessed improvement in May when Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal revealed that his country invited the Iranian foreign minister to visit Riyadh for talks. Endit
