Four alleged jihadists were arrested on Saturday in Spain's autonomous city of Ceuta, located in the North of Africa, the Spanish Ministry of Interior reported on Saturday.

The four detainees, Moroccan origin but Spanish nationality, were arrested by the country's National Police. According to the Ministry they are two pairs of brothers, who were prepared to attack, including self-immolation.

There were two searches in two houses in Ceuta carried out by the National Police, who will transfer the four detainees by helicopter to Madrid.

This was the first arrest in Spain after the attack against Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish store in its neighboring country, France. Afterwards, Spain raised its terrorist alert from level two to level three. Endit
