Syrian troops ambush 50 rebels in Daraa

A total of 50 rebels were ambushed on Friday by the Syrian troops in the country's southern province of Daraa, the al-Manar TV reported.

The Syrian troops ambushed the rebels on the road of Buraq-Swaida in the countryside of Daraa, using explosive devices and automatic machineguns, according to the TV.

Separately, the oppositional Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said seven government soldiers were killed during clashes with the militant groups in the town of Handarat in the northern province of Aleppo.

Also on Friday, several mortar shells slammed into residential areas in the capital Damascus, leaving unknown number of injuries. Endit
