U.S. electronic payment system PayPal has stopped its services in Crimea, the system's administration said on Friday.

PayPal, which provides services in 190 countries, said it is "unable at the present time" to offer its online services to clients in Crimea, a peninsula incorporated by Russia last March.

"We apologize for the inconvenience resulted (from the decision)," the company said in a press release.
