Singapore stocks close 1.22 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 41.21 points, or 1.22 percent, to close at 3,411.5.

A total of 1.8 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 57 billion Singapore dollars (1.17 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 327 to 164, while 448 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 15.83 points, or 0.47 percent, to close at 3,370.29 on Thursday. Endi
