The European Union (EU) said on Thursday the EU is going to step up humanitarian aid to needed people in Ukraine.

According to an EU statement, Commissioner Christos Stylianides, responsible for humanitarian aid and crisis management, will visit Ukraine on next Monday and Tuesday.

Collectively, EU member states and the European Commission have provided over 76 million euros (88 million U.S. dollars) in humanitarian and recovery assistance for Ukraine.

According to the UN, the conflict in Ukraine has displaced more than 600,000 people inside Ukraine and has forced close to 600,000 people to flee to neighboring countries. Endit
