Australian stocks on rise at opening

The Australian stock market rallied at the opening of trade on Thursday.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 35.1 points, or 0.65 percent, at 5,428.5 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index rose 32.7 points, or 0.61 percent, to 5,400.1 points.

BHP was up 2.9 percent, and rival Rio Tinto rose 1.9 percent. Endi
