Albania emphasizes urgency on railway link with Macedonia

Albanian Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta said on Wednesday that swift implementation of a railway project linking Albania and Macedonia is strategically urgent in the long-term cooperation between the two countries.

Meta made the remarks during his official visit in Skopje on Wednesday where he was received by Macedonian President Gorge Ivanov, and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.

Meta and Gruevski emphasized the importance of a faster completion of the railway linking Albania and Macedonia, considering it as a strategic urgency for both Tirana and Skopje and a strong link to Corridor 8, which serves the entire region.

Meta voiced Albania's interest in railway link between the two countries, which he considers significant for bolstering the bilateral and the trade exchange with the countries in the region. Enditem
