Xinhua, January 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

The 32nd Session of International Fair of Khartoum on Wednesday kicked off in the Sudanese capital with the participation of 17 countries, 190 foreign companies, seven Sudanese states and 450 national companies.

The inauguration ceremony of the fair was attended by Sudan's First Vice-President Bakry Hassan Salih, Qatari Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim and Sudanese Minister Foreign Trade Osman Omer Al-Shareef.

Al-Shareef said the event tends to explore Sudan's economic and investment potentialities.

"This session is convened at a time when Sudan is pressing towards a better economic reality after overcoming the shock of losing its oil revenues due to the separation of South Sudan," he added.

The Sudanese minister also urged Arab, African and Asian countries to expand their investments in Sudan in different fields.

"Sudan is working to improve the investment environment in a manner that achieves mutual benefits for all parties", he noted.

The activities of the fair will last till Jan. 28, including a number of economic forums and cultural events. Endit
