Iceland's unemployment rate stood at 4.3 percent in December 2014, registering a year-on-year decrease of 0.1 percentage point, according to a labor force survey issued Wednesday by Statistics Iceland.

The survey showed the number of people in the labor force market in December 2014 was 183,700, of which 7,900 people were unemployed.

Seasonally-adjusted data showed that in December, the number of unemployed people amounted to 8,300, increasing by 1,400 from November 2014. The unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in December compared to 3.7 percent in November.

The trend lines for the seasonally adjusted data in the last six months show a slight decrease in unemployment rate and a slow increase in both employment and activity rates.
