Xinhua, January 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Bangladeshi government has announced a cash reward of 100,000 taka (about 1,282 U.S. dollars) to anyone giving information leading to the arrest of arson attackers.

Bangladeshi Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu made the announcement after a cabinet meeting on the law and order situation of the country on Wednesday afternoon.

"We've decided to give 100,000 as reward if anyone can extend support to the law enforcement agencies to arrest an arson attacker red-handed," he said.

Bangladeshi State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan said on Tuesday the government will reward people for information leading to the arrest of arson attackers.

Asaduzzaman's remarks came as protests of the opposition alliance turned violent and at least 25 people killed, mostly in arson attacks. Endi
