Xinhua, January 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese shares surged Wednesday in the afternoon session, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gaining more than 3 percent to surpass the 3,200-point psychological threshold.

Chinese shares started to rebound Tuesday following Monday's 7.7 percent slump, the steepest daily fall since June 2008.

Gains were seen across the board Wednesday, while banks, insurance and property heavyweights are the biggest gainers. Endi
