Norwegian league top scorer joins Chinese Super League

Xinhua, January 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Iceland international Vidar Kjartansson has moved to Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Sainty, the club said on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old forward will arrive in Nanjing around noon before he has the medical examination.

Kjartansson was the leading scorer in last season's Norwegian super league where he scored 25 goals in 29 appearances for Valerenga.

He was called up by the national team in 2014.

Kjartansson became the second foreign player signed by Jiangsu in a week after Dutch top league player Gaat Michael de Leeuw.

De Leeuw, 28, scored nine goals in just 19 matches for FC Groningen this season. Endi
