Three people have been killed in road accidents due to bad weather in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), local media reported on Tuesday.

Dubai police counted 756 traffic "accidents" within eight hours, which left three people dead, according to local daily Gulf News.

At least seven flights were disrupted on Monday night at Dubai International Airport due to thunderstorms, rain and strong winds.

The emirates of Dubai, Sharjah and Ras al-Khaimah were most affected by rain, while some parts of Abu Dhabi witnessed heavy rain in the last 24 hours, the report added.

Forecasts said the weather in the Arab Gulf state is expected to remain unstable on Tuesday.

Dubai has a tropical desert climate because of its location within the Northern desert belt, most of the days here are sunny throughout the year. Endit
