Dollar changes hands at upper 117 yen level in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 117 yen zone early Tuesday in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 117.75-83 yen compared with 117.50-60 yen in London at 4 p.m. and 117.16-18 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.

The euro fetched 1.1595-1595 dollars and 136.51-53 yen against 1.1625-1635 dollars and 136.70-75 yen in London and 1.1559-1560 dollars and 135.43-47 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.

The U.S. foreign exchange market was closed Monday for a national holiday. Endi
