One injured in car explosion in Albania

Xinhua, January 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

The warden of an Albanian prison located at its port city of Durres was seriously wounded on Monday after an explosive blew up his car while driving, local media reported.

Arben Suloj was being treated in Tirana for his injuries. It was reported that he was in a stable, but critical condition.

Investigators found that the explosive device was not a big one, which was suspected to be used to intimidate him for taking unpopular new measures in the prison.

This is the third remotely controlled car bomb that explodes in Durres in as many days. The other two car explosions happened last Saturday and Sunday.

Four persons were arrested Saturday night for trafficking explosive materials, while dozens of people have been interrogated. Enditem.
