Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III said Monday that he wants to further improve the security measures implemented during the five-day visit of Pope Francis when the country hosts the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit later this year.

Aquino said that post-assessment would be conducted regarding the preparations made by different government agencies, including the security forces, during the papal visit.

Asked if he was satisfied with the security measures during the Pope's visit on Jan. 15-19, he said "we might further fine-tune it especially we still have (to host) APEC in November."

During the Pope's trip in the Philippines, 25,000 to 50,000 police and military personnel were deployed in areas that the Pontiff visited. Endi
