Xinhua, January 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least four people were killed when a U.S. drone launched missile strikes in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan on Monday, local media reported.

ARY News said the pilotless aircraft fired two missiles at a house believed to be hideouts of suspected militants in Shawal area of North Waziristan, a restive tribal area along the Pakistan- Afghanistan border.

The strike leveled the compound, trapping several people under the rubbles.

Media reports said the residents pulled out four bodies from the debris and several people were still feared to be stranded in the debris.

Identities of the killed militants have not been revealed yet.

This is the third drone strike in the country's tribal area since the beginning of this year.

To date over 21 people have been killed in such strikes in the area. Endi
