S. Korean president instructs officials to create conditions for inter-Korean dialogue

Xinhua, January 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

South Korean President Park Geun-hye on Monday instructed officials to make efforts to create conditions for a dialogue with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The instruction came during the joint annual reports to Park by four ministries in charge of unification, defense and foreign affairs.

Park called on officials to "make efforts to come up with conditions under which DPRK can respond" to Seoul's offer to hold a dialogue in January to discuss all issues of mutual concern.

The president said in her New Year's press conference that she is open to summit with DPRK's top leader Kim Jong Un, who said earlier in his New Year speech that there is no reason not to hold talks with Park. Endi
