Xinhua, January 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Residents in the north of Western Australia are preparing for a major cyclone, which is expected to hit the coast on Monday evening. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) has issued an alert for people living in the towns of Broome, Karratha and Port Hedland. The weather bureau said a tropical low was moving across the northern part of the state and was expected to move offshore from the west Kimberley coast on Monday, and develop into a tropical cyclone in the evening. DFES urged people in affected areas to get ready for dangerous weather. Endi
