German benchmark DAX index climbs 2.2 pct on Thursday

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday added 2.2 percent and closed above 10,000 points.

The blue-chip index rose by 215.53 points and closed at 10,032.61 points.

The rally left all the 30 DAX member shares in the positive territory. Beiersdorf Aktiengesellschaft, a personal care company, rose markedly by 5.6 percent, the highest among all the shares. ThyssenKrupp AG advanced by 4.22 percent.

The turnover stood at 5.82 billion euros (around 6.86 billion U.S. dollars). Allianz SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 489.6 million euros (around 576.74 million U.S. dollars). Endit
