A Spanish judge is investigating a visit made by Amedy Coulibaly, the jihadist terrorist who killed four people in an attack on a Jewish supermarket on Jan. 9, to Madrid over the New Year, according to reports in El Pais newspaper.

Coulibaly, who was killed when French police ended the supermarket siege, reportedly travelled to the Spanish capital along with his wife, Hayat Boumeddiene and another person on Dec. 31.

Boumeddiene flew from Madrid to Turkey on Jan. 2 and is now thought to be in Syria, while Coulibaly returned to Paris where he later carried out atrocities between Jan. 8 and 9.

Spanish Judge Eloy Velasco has opened an investigation into where the couple and their companion stayed and whether they contacted or received help from anyone in Spain. Endit
