A European Union (EU) official started a roadshow on Thursday from Italy to promote the EU 315-bln-euro (372 billion U.S. dollars) investment plan.

European Commission Vice President responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness Jyrki Katainen will visit member states of the 28-country bloc and explain to them the new business opportunities for governments, investors as well as regional authorities, trade unions and communities.

Katainen will stay in Italy for two days. His trip to Italy will be followed by visits to Germany, Croatia and the Czech Republic, Spain and France. He will visit all 28 EU countries before October 2015. The Vice President will also make visits to non-EU countries to promote the Investment Plan.

In each country, the roadshow program will be tailored to the investment needs of specific member states. Endit
