Cameroon can win African Cup in well preparation, says former coach

Xinhua, January 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

Former Cameroonian soccer team assistant coach Ama Pierre said Thursday it is possible for the team to win the upcoming African Cup of Nations if they are well prepared.

The 2015 African Cup is shifted to be held in Equitorial Guinea from Jan. 17 to Feb. 8 after Morocco withdrew from hosting it due to worries of Ebola epidemic.

Pierre said that the Cameroon national team is weak in playing the last 30 minutes. "If they can overcome the problem, they will have good performance in the competition," he said.

Pierre, playing for the national team from 1971 to 1973 and coaching the team from 1978 to 1981, recently published a book named "Memoir of A Coach", telling his experience as a coach.

"I pubished the book ahead of African Cup because I want to share my experience with the coach and players of the national team," Pierre said. Endi
