Iran plays Qatar scoreless in first half

Iran and Qatar played scoreless in the first half of Group C second round match at the AFC Asian Cup here on Thursday.

Familiar with each other, both sides tried to score from the beginning. Iran, which tops Asian teams in FIFA ranking, gained an early upper hand with counter-attacks.

Morteza Pouraliganji's powerful header was headed out by Qatar defender who's standing just besides the net.
