Bride among 7 killed in Pakistan's wedding hall collapse

Two more people, who were injured when roof of a wedding hall collapsed in Pakistan's eastern Lahore city on Tuesday night, succumbed to wounds at a hospital Wednesday, raising the death toll to seven, local media reported.

Samaa TV reported that the roof collapsed when a wedding ceremony was taking place at the hall.

Two women including the bride and two kids were among the fatalities in the mishap, said the report.

Twenty people including the bridegroom got injured when the wedding hall's roof collapsed due to heavy downpour in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab province.

Police said the newly-constructed wedding hall which was inaugurated four days ago could not withstand the late night downpours and crumbled.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and ordered an immediate inquiry. Endi
