Xinhua, January 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

Estonian composer Arvo Part has, for the fourth year running, been given the title of the world's most performed living composer by the classical music event database, Bachtrack.

Placing 37th in Bachtrack's ranking for best overall composers, Arvo Part, who was born in 1935, was ranked a place higher than last year, Bachtrack data showed.

Estonian authorities have named 2015 the national Year of Music, a year when renowned Estonian composers Arvo Part and Veljo Tormis will celebrate their respective 80th and 85th birthdays.

The most noteworthy events to be featured in the country's Year of Music program are the staging of Arvo Part and Robert Wilson's "Adam's Lament," which won a Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance last year. Endit
