Hong Kong adjusts Vietnam travel alert

Xinhua, January 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

In view of the latest situation in Vietnam, the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Tuesday adjusted the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) for Vietnam from red to amber.

"Hong Kong residents who intend to visit the country or are already there should monitor the situation, exercise caution, attend to personal safety, and avoid protests and large gatherings of people," said a government spokesman.

The Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates through the media and the OTA webpage.

The Hong Kong government's OTA features three levels of amber, red and black in an ascending order. Endi
