Maguire, Robertson advance at snooker Masters

Former world champion Neil Robertson beat Robert Milkins in the first round of the snooker Masters here on Monday but UK Championship finalist Judd Trump suffered an early exit to Stephen Maguire.

Trump, runner-up to Ronnie O'Sullivan at both the Champion of Champions and UK Championship, was unable to improve on a Masters record which shows just one semifinal in five appearances. He surrendered an early 2-0 lead and lost 4-6 to the Glaswegian.

Maguire will now face Shaun Murphy on Friday with the chance to reach the semis of the Masters for the fifth time.

Chelsea captain John Terry watched Robertson's match against Milkins at Alexandra Palace, in which the Aussie won 6-4.

Terry is a keen snooker fan and played pool against Robertson when the Aussie visited Chelsea's training complex in 2013. Endi
