German benchmark DAX index advances

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday advanced by 133.4 points and closed at 9,781.9 points.

The blue-chip index rose by 1.38 percent. Investors are still concerned about the elections in Greece, which will be held on Jan. 25, according to German business daily Handelsblatt.

Software giant SAP SE advanced the most by 4.62 percent. Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care group, added 3.31 percent. Continental AG climbed by 2.8 percent. Beiersdorf Aktiengesellschaft, a personal care company, rose by 2.55 percent, and Deutsche Telekom AG went up by 2.52 percent.

The utilities company RWE AG St, Commerzbank AG and adidas AG slipped by 2.61 percent, 1.13 percent and 0.4 percent respectively.

The turnover stood at 3.73 billion euros (4.42 billion U.S. dollars). SAP SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 349.92 million euros. Endit
