Slovakia plans to update defense strategy

Xinhua, January 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Slovak Defense Ministry plans to update its defense strategy due to the current security situation and the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Slovak Defense Minister Martin Glvac confirmed on Monday.

"We want to draft a document that would adequately respond to the new security situation and its possible development, and that would set out clearly where we are heading in this area," added Glvac.

Meanwhile, the current security strategy of the country has largely responded to the accession of Slovakia to NATO and the EU.

"Considering the time that has passed since it was implemented, the development of the security environment has been marked by several significant changes. The most marked one is associated with the crisis in Ukraine," said Glvac. Endit
